DISTRICT OF ELKFORD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR DISTRICT OF ELKFORD OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN BYLAW NO. 917, 2025
Pursuant to Section 477 of the Local Government Act and Section 94 of the Community Charter, notice is hereby given that council for the District of Elkford has scheduled a public hearing for the public to provide input to the council regarding Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 917, 2025, which proposes to replace current Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 710, 2010 with a new Official Community Plan (OCP).

Purpose of Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 917, 2025

The proposed bylaw is to adopt a new OCP covering all land and properties within the municipal boundaries of the District of Elkford. The OCP is a statement of objectives and policies to guide decisions on planning and land use management. The OCP: - Includes policies regarding Indigenous relations and reconciliation, environment and climate, natural hazards, economy and vibrancy, housing, social development, heritage, food security, parks, trails and open spaces, transportation, mobility and access, and municipal infrastructure;
- Establishes land use designations and development permit areas.

The proposed bylaw amendments may be inspected between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays), from April 17 to 28, 2025 at the District of Elkford Office, 744 Fording Drive, Elkford, B.C., or by email request to info@elkford.ca.
Members of the public are invited to attend the public hearing in person or electronically via Zoom. Zoom login information can be obtained by email request to info@elkford.ca. If unable to attend the public hearing, persons may submit written comments to the attention of the Director of Corporate Services by mail to P.O. Box 340, Elkford, B.C., V0B 1H0, Services, by email to info@elkford.ca or in person at the District Office at 744 Fording Drive, no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 28, 2025. All submissions will form part of the public hearing record.
